How much does a family photo session cost in Walnut Creek?+
Milk + Lily family collections start at $699 (Petite), $925 (Classic), and $1,150 (Heirloom). A refundable $99 deposit holds your date. On-location sessions across the East Bay add a flat $250 travel fee.
How long is a family photo session?+
A full family session runs 60–90 minutes and easily accommodates one outfit change and multiple setups (individuals, couple, kids solo, whole-family).
What should we wear for family photos?+
Coordinate palettes rather than matching outfits. Two or three complementary neutrals (cream, taupe, soft blue or blush) photograph beautifully across skin tones and ages. Avoid logos, character prints, and neon. A wardrobe guide is sent after booking.
Where do you photograph family sessions in the East Bay?+
In our Walnut Creek studio, at your home, or on-location: Heather Farm Park, Mount Diablo trails, Larkey Park, Ruth Bancroft Garden, Lafayette Reservoir, or the Berkeley/Alameda coast. Filoli Gardens is available seasonally with a permit.
What time of day is best for outdoor family photos?+
Golden hour: the last 90 minutes before sunset. Light is warm and directional, and small kids are past the mid-day tired hump. We do not book outdoor sessions in mid-day summer sun.
What if my toddler will not cooperate?+
That is expected. Family sessions with young children are built around movement and play, not posed lineups. We keep the pace short, follow the child, and get real expressions instead of forced smiles.
Do you photograph extended family and multi-generation portraits?+
Yes. Extended family sessions with grandparents, cousins, and multiple households are welcome. Groups larger than 8 people are best booked as an on-location session (parks and gardens give more room).
When will I get my family photos back?+
Your edited gallery is delivered 2 to 3 weeks after the session. Print, wall-art, and album ordering opens at the same time.
